Wealth does not come from your bank account, wealth comes from the depth of your heart. What you really want is happiness. You might believe that a fat bank account will get you there, but that’s false. Happy people are happy rich or poor, unhappy people are unhappy rich or poor. Money simply masks your real being by giving you activities to occupy your mind. Don’t fool yourself, recession or not, your true wealth comes from your heart and is always only there.

People will kill you. Over time. They will shave out every last morsel of fun in you with little, harmless sounding phrases that people use every day, like: “Be realistic.

As much as we know that death looms around each of our doorsteps, perhaps we forget how precious life really is. Maybe I shouldn’t try to narrow life down to one final memory to serve me on my deathbed. Maybe it’s all the memories combined.

Get this, Dave, one of the guys failed Grade 10 English, and then failed Grade 11 English and when we found out that the book was a New York Times Best-Seller, he called the principal of the highschool and was like ‘I need to get the e-mail for that teacher,’ and e-mailed them and was like ‘Hey, it’s Dave, I’m a New York Times best-Selling Author!’

If you asked me five years ago about the likelihood of crossing off these list items, I would have told you that none would come to fruition, but that wasn’t the point. Today, after accomplishing so many list items and enjoying the best five years of my life, I have no choice but to believe that anything you want in this world is possible.

Sometimes we hate going after our dreams. They seem to hard or too far away to accomplish. All to often we expect a second go or another shot at the chances we didn’t take the first time around. “Next time,” we say.
Life doesn’t work out perfectly, and it never will. It could work better, sure, but don’t bank on happiness as a prize so far down the road that you forget the joy of right now. This is your “one wild and precious life,” and it’s up to you to decide what to do with it. Nothing should be out of reach. The shoulders of greatness are yours for the standing on.
